Here is another painting- painted with oils on acrylic sealed paper- and below it is a group of photos taken during the painting process. The final photo was taken in sunlight and better matches the actual colors of the painting

Another quick painting with animal friend added

I overworked this one too much, but I had fun paintig the frog.  It is oil on paper that has been tinted with watercolor and sealed with acrylic matte medium.  It's a technique used by one of my favorite illustrators Paul O. Zelinsky.  I saw a step by step demo of it somewhere online but I can't seem to find it now.  Here is his website where you can see the amazing things he has done with the technique:  http://www.paulozelinsky.com/rumpelstiltskin.html

This one was fun to draw, but the painting got too muddied and dull-overworked.  I was too focused on getting a likeness I think.
A quick oil painting using lots of turpentine like a watercolor painting. I liked the way the paint behaved on this surface- paper sealed with acrylic matte medium
